Cheptebo Agricultural Training and Innovation Centre [CATIC] is the formal agricultural training component of the AIC Cheptebo Rural Development Centre. Our vision is to be -
'An agricultural centre of excellence providing practical and innovative training within a Christian context'.
Residential training courses are based on proven production methods developed on the Cheptebo farm over the past 30 years. The centre specialises in agricultural production particularly relevant to the semi arid areas.Training includes classroom instruction but course participants will spend the majority of the time on practical learning within the project farm.
At present training is based on 5 day residential modules. These are suitable for Kenya's small scale farmers, NGOs, the private sector as well as for County and National Government staff working in related fields. There is no formal entry requirement to these modules. Teaching is normally done in English and Kiswahili.
The one year residential Certificate Course in Crop and Livestock Production for Semi Arid Areas will be launched later in 2018.
Details of the modules currently being offered and the fees schedule can be viewed at the foot of this page.
Interested organisations and individual farmers considering using CATIC for agricultural training are welcome to contact The CATIC Training Coordinator to arrange a visit to see what is being offered and to discuss the particulars of their training requirements.
