Cheptebo Agricultural Training and Innovation Centre [CATIC] is the formal agricultural training component of the AIC Cheptebo Rural Development Centre. Our vision is to be -
'An agricultural centre of excellence providing practical and innovative training within a Christian context'.
Residential training courses are based on proven production methods developed on the Cheptebo farm over the past 30 years. The centre specialises in agricultural production particularly relevant to the semi arid areas.Training includes classroom instruction but course participants will spend the majority of the time on practical learning within the project farm.
At present training is based on 5 day residential modules. These are suitable for Kenya's small scale farmers, NGOs, the private sector as well as for County and National Government staff working in related fields. There is no formal entry requirement to these modules. Teaching is normally done in English and Kiswahili.

Progress in the development of CATIC
Construction work on the first phase of the Cheptebo Agricultural Training and Innovation Centre was completed in June 2016. This provides two classrooms, offices and a library/computer room.
Construction work on the first 48 bed hostel was completed in April 2018. A second hostel of similar size for male students is now planned. Further developments will provide an improved kitchen and student dining facilities.
