Overview
A.I.C Cheptebo Rural Development Centre is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to contributing to the community's spiritual and physical development. The Centre now seeks to recruit a capable, motivated, and experienced individual to join the CRDC team to lead the spiritual ministry in line with evolving dynamics.
This is a great opportunity to enhance our programs and deliver impactful chaplaincy ministry.
Job Purpose
The Centre Chaplain will be a member of CRDC's Management Team and will report to the Centre Director.
The role involves providing pastoral care to staff, families, visitors/customers, as well as Cheptebo Agricultural Training and Innovation Centre (CATIC) students and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement the goals of the pastoral department.
- Facilitate celebration of Holy Communion as appropriate to clerical status.
- Organize worship services creatively and ecumenically.
- Provide religious and spiritual guidance and counselling to staff, families, students, and guests.
- Plan and organize daily devotions for staff, students, and guests.
- Participate in community outreach and development activities aligned with CRDC's mission.
- Assist management in conducting appraisals and building strong relationships with CRDC clients, families, and partners.
- Offer support to other CRDC departments as required.
- Collaborate closely with the local church, District Church Council (DCC), and Regional Church Council (RCC).
- Offer prayers and support to patients and staff at the local dispensary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field from an institution recognized by A.I.C Kenya.
- Diploma in Counselling Psychology or Chaplaincy.
- Member and recognized minister of the Africa Inland Church.
- At least five years of pastoral ministry experience.
- Be a Licensed/Ordained minister.
- Strong pastoral counselling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to work effectively with management, staff, churches, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in youth ministry, institutional ministry, or community development.
- Computer literacy and good report writing skills.
- Valid driving license.
